Product Care
Well maintained wooden wares will last for generations.
If your piece is for display only, I recommend taking a moment ideally once a year to maintain it. Just wipe any dust away using a towel, slightly damp if necessary, and apply a thin coat of oil or wax with a soft cloth.
Tips for kitchenware:
DO NOT:
• Do not put in dishwasher, microwave, or oven.
• Do not use olive oil, vegetable oil, or other oils for maintaining your piece that will go rancid in time.
• Do not let water soak on the surface extendedly. Wipe dry after cleaning.
• Do not wash pieces with cracks. Pieces with cracks are not intended for contact with water repeatedly. They should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
DO:
• Hand wash with preferably warm water. If needed, you can use a pinch of dish soap, but soap will strip the oils from the wood and will require more frequent maintenance.
• Use a soft dish brush or dish pad.
• Rinse the surface and dry off the excess water with a towel. Set out to fully dry where airflow can reach all sides to prevent warping and cracks.
• Apply maintenance oil or wax to the piece as soon as it begins to lose color and feel dried out. Any mineral oil, beeswax, or other cutting board care product will do. We like to use a product called Wood Wax from Real Milk Paint Co for all of our wood care and maintenance. Amazon link listed below:
